Have you ever thought of sharing pictures and videos in both landscape or portrait form??? Instagram has officially announced that photos and videos can be shared in both portrait and landscape format. However, the square format will always be a part of their formats. The blog made it clear by stating, “That said, the visual story you’re trying to tell should always come first, and we want to make it simple and fun for you to share moments just the way you want to.”
According to statistical data collected by Instagram, out of 5 photos, one is in not in the square format. This decision is basically taken to make users feel comfortable in sharing photos and videos in any format. With the help of format icon, the orientation of the photo or video can be selected to which it suits the most. This means there won’t be cutting out friends from the friends and won’t be any crampled videos. Interesting!
So your followers will have a full view of your shared photos and the photo will appear as the center-cropped square keeping in mind the profile grid. The most emphasis is on video portion, where widescreen will have a cinematic view. Also, all filters will now work for both videos and photos, no distinctions. And now you can apply filters to the video too!
